Gregg Allman był amerykańskim muzykiem rockowym i bluesowym, wokalistą i autorem tekstów, który w 1969 roku współzałożył zespół The Allman Brothers Band.
Album Southern Blood to jego ósmy i ostatni album studyjny, wydany 8 września 2017 roku nakładem wytwórni Rounder, cztery miesiące po śmierci Allmana. Nagrywano go w studiu FAME Studios w Muscle Shoals w Alabamie z producentem Donem Wasem. Wydanie CD w digipacku zawiera 13 utworów na 2 płytach, w tym koncertowe wersje I Love the Life I Live i Love Like Kerosene z 2016 roku oraz bonusowy dokument Back to the Swamp: The Making of Southern Blood.
