Anthrax to amerykański zespół thrash metalowy z Nowego Jorku, należący do tzw. „Wielkiej Czwórki thrash metalu” (Big Four) obok Metalliki, Megadeth i Slayera. Grupa powstała w 1981 roku, a jej muzyka łączy szybki thrash metal z melodyjnymi elementami speed metalu.
Kompilacja Aftershock: The Island Years 1985–1990 ukazała się w 2013 roku nakładem wytwórni Island i zawiera 54 utwory na 4 CD dokumentujące okres twórczości zespołu w drugiej połowie lat 80. W skład zestawu wchodzą klasyczne albumy, takie jak Among the Living z utworami Caught in a Mosh, I Am the Law czy Indians, a także utwory Madhouse, Aftershock i Armed and Dangerous. Box zawiera zarówno nagrania studyjne, jak i alternatywne wersje oraz nagrania koncertowe.
W 2013 roku zespół tworzyli Scott Ian (gitara elektryczna), Charlie Benante (perkusja) i Jonathan Donais (gitara elektryczna).
