Armin van Buuren to holenderski DJ i producent muzyki trance, który w 2003 roku założył własną wytwórnię Armada Music. Od 2001 roku prowadzi cotygodniowy program radiowy A State of Trance nadawany w dziesiątkach krajów na całym świecie.
Kompilacja A State of Trance 2022 ukazała się w 2022 roku nakładem wytwórni Armada Music jako dwupłytowe wydawnictwo CD zawierające łącznie 40 utworów. Wybór obejmuje nagrania z nurtu trance i progressive trance, wśród których znalazły się Echoes, Offshore, Sunrise (Rank 1 Remix) czy Let You Down. Album stanowi stylistyczny przekrój aktualnej sceny trance i kontynuuje tradycję regularnych kompilacji związanych z popularnym programem radiowym.
