HammerFall to szwedzka grupa power metalowa z Göteborga, założona w 1993 roku przez gitarzystę Oscara Dronjaka i Jespera Strömblada. Debiutancki album Glory to the Brave (1997) wywołał w Europie nową falę zainteresowania heavy metalem.
Kompilacja Steel Meets Steel – Ten Years of Glory ukazała się w 2007 roku nakładem wytwórni Nuclear Blast jako podwójne CD i podsumowuje pierwszą dekadę działalności zespołu. Zestaw 29 utworów obejmuje kluczowe nagrania takie jak Hearts on Fire, Renegade, Hero's Return oraz koncertową wersję Let the Hammer Fall. Materiał prezentuje pełne spektrum twórczości – od wczesnych hymnicznych kompozycji po późniejsze przebojowe utwory, które ugruntowały pozycję HammerFall jako jednej z czołowych sił europejskiego power metalu.
