Iron Maiden to brytyjska grupa heavy metalowa założona w 1975 roku przez basistę Steve'a Harrisa, pionierka New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Jej wpływ na metal był fundamentalny; od wydania debiutanckiego albumu w 1980 roku stała się jednym z najbardziej stabilnych i komercyjnie odnoszących sukcesy zespołów tego gatunku.
Death on the Road to szósty album koncertowy grupy, wydany w 2005 roku przez wytwórnię Parlophone. Płytę nagrano 24 listopada 2003 roku w Westfalenhallen w Dortmundzie podczas trasy promującej album Dance of Death. Ten podwójny winyl zawiera 16 utworów, wśród których nie brakuje klasyków takich jak Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear of the Dark, The Number of the Beast czy Run to the Hills, obok nowszych hitów z albumów Brave New World i Dance of Death. Oryginalny miks przygotował Kevin Shirley, montaż wykonał Steve Harris.
Przy albumie pracowali Steve Harris (gitara basowa, wokal wspierający, instrumenty klawiszowe), Nicko McBrain (perkusja) oraz Janick Gers (gitara).
