Album Call Off the Search ukazał się w listopadzie 2003 roku nakładem wytwórni Dramatico i było jej debiutanckim albumem — w styczniu 2004 roku dotarł na pierwsze miejsce brytyjskiej listy przebojów, a w pierwszych pięciu miesiącach sprzedaży zdobył czterokrotną platynową certyfikację. Rozszerzona dwupłytowa reedycja z okazji 20. rocznicy wydania zawiera 29 nagrań: oryginalny album z utworami The Closest Thing to Crazy, Crawling Up a Hill i Call Off the Search, bonusowe wersje demo oraz wersję koncertową z Royal Albert Hall. Materiał wyprodukował Mike Batt; Melua była również autorką dwóch kompozycji.
