The Alan Parsons Project to brytyjskie duo muzyczne działające w latach 1975–1990, które tworzyło konceptualne albumy z gatunku rocka progresywnego. Założyli je producent i inżynier dźwięku Alan Parsons (znany z pracy nad legendarnym albumem The Dark Side of the Moon zespołu Pink Floyd) oraz kompozytor Eric Woolfson.
Album Tales of Mystery and Imagination z 1976 roku to debiutancki album studyjny projektu. Tytuł i tematyka albumu inspirowane są dziełem Edgara Allana Poego — wszystkie utwory są muzycznymi adaptacjami jego opowiadań i wierszy, w tym The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado czy rozbudowana kompozycja The Fall of the House of Usher.
