Tankard to niemiecka grupa thrashmetalowa z Frankfurtu, założona w 1982 roku. Obok kapel Sodom, Kreator i Destruction jest nieoficjalnie zaliczana do „wielkiej czwórki” niemieckiego thrash metalu (The Big Teutonic Four). Teksty Tankard tradycyjnie koncentrują się głównie na tematyce alkoholowej – sami muzycy żartobliwie określają swój styl jako „alcoholic metal”.
Kompilacja Hymns for the Drunk ukazała się w 2018 roku nakładem wytwórni AFM Records i zawiera siedemnaście utworów z dyskografii zespołu. Wśród zgromadzonych nagrań znajdują się między innymi Zombie Attack, The Morning After, Die With a Beer in Your Hand oraz medley czterech utworów Alcohol, Puke, Mon Cheri i Wonderful Life.
W momencie wydania Tankard tworzyli Andreas Geremia (wokal), Frank Thorwarth, Olaf Zissel (perkusja) i Andreas Gutjahr (gitara).
