Testament to amerykański zespół thrash metalowy założony w 1983 roku w Berkeley w Kalifornii. Początkowo działał pod nazwą Legacy, ale w 1986 roku zmienił ją na Testament. Należy do najważniejszych przedstawicieli thrash metalu, szacuje się, że na całym świecie sprzedał ponad 14 milionów nośników.
Kompilacja Original Album Series ukazała się w 2013 roku nakładem wytwórni Rhino jako pięciopłytowy box CD. Przedstawia zremasterowane reedycje pięciu albumów studyjnych z przełomu lat osiemdziesiątych i dziewięćdziesiątych: debiutanckiego albumu The Legacy (1987), kolejnych The New Order (1988), Practice What You Preach (1989), Souls of Black (1990) i The Ritual (1992). Kolekcja zawiera łącznie 50 utworów, w tym klasyczne thrash metalowe numery takie jak Over the Wall, Into the Pit czy Practice What You Preach.
W czasie wydania zestawu skład zespołu tworzyli gitarzysta Eric Peterson i wokalista Chuck Billy.
