Stanley Turrentine był amerykańskim jazzowym saksofonistą działającym w nurcie hard bopu i soul jazzu. Pochodził z muzycznej rodziny; jego ojciec Thomas był saksofonistą, a brat Tommy trębaczem. Współpracował z czołowymi postaciami jazzu, takimi jak Jimmy Smith, Max Roach, Shirley Scott, Kenny Burrell czy Freddie Hubbard.
