Unanimated to szwedzki death metalowy zespół założony w 1988 roku w Sztokholmie, działający w nurcie melodyjnego death metalu z elementami black metalu. Po wczesnych demach zespół stał się częścią szwedzkiej undergroundowej sceny metalowej.
In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead to debiutancki album zespołu, wydany w 1993 roku przez wytwórnię Pavement Music. Album zawiera 11 utworów i należy do wczesnych przykładów melodyjnego death metalu, łączącego twardość death metalu z atmosferycznymi elementami i melodyjnymi liniami. Album ukazał się na CD. Pomimo pozytywnych recenzji album pozostał undergroundową pozycją, częściowo ze względu na niewielką wytwórnię oraz malejące komercyjne zainteresowanie death metalem w połowie lat 90. Wśród wyróżniających się utworów znalazły się Blackness of the Fallen Star, Fire Storm oraz tytułowy In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead.
W czasie wydania albumu w skład zespołu wchodzili Jojje Bohlin, Micke Jansson, Daniel Lofthagen, Jonas Mellberg, Peter Stjärnvind i Jocke Westman.
