Epica to holenderski symfoniczno-metalowy zespół założony w 2002 roku przez Marka Jansena po jego odejściu z After Forever. Styl muzyczny grupy łączy operowe elementy i death metalowe wokale z progresywnymi i orkiestrowymi pasażami.
Koncertowy album Omega Alive ukazał się w 2021 roku nakładem wytwórni Nuclear Blast jako podwójne CD w digipacku. Nagranie obejmuje 15 utworów, w tym rozbudowane kompozycje Kingdom of Heaven – Part III i Kingdom of heaven: a new age dawns, part v, a także utwory The Skeleton Key i Freedom – The Wolves Within. Album uchwytuje energię i techniczną precyzję, którymi zespół wyróżnia się na scenie koncertowej.
