Flotsam and Jetsam to amerykańska grupa thrash metalowa założona w 1981 roku w Phoenix w Arizonie. W zespole grał basista Jason Newsted, który po wydaniu debiutanckiego albumu zastąpił Cliffa Burtona w Metallice.
Album I Am the Weapon ukazuje się na kolorowym czerwonym winylu i oferuje jedenaście utworów ostrego, energicznego thrash metalu. Wśród wyróżniających się nagrań znajdziemy A New Kind of Hero, tytułowy I Am the Weapon, Gates of Hell czy Black Wings.
