Jubileuszowa reedycja piątego studyjnego albumu American Beauty z listopada 1970 roku, pierwotnie wydanego przez wytwórnię Warner Bros. Records, teraz ukazuje się na trzech płytach pod szyldem Grateful Dead Records. Album kontynuował country i folk rockowe brzmienie poprzedniego wydawnictwa Workingman's Dead i wchłaniał wpływy Boba Dylana oraz Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. To rozszerzone wydanie zawiera oryginalnych 10 utworów studyjnych, w tym Truckin', Ripple czy Box of Rain, oraz pełne nagranie koncertowe z Capitol Theatre w Port Chester, NY, z 18 lutego 1971 roku — łącznie 33 nagrania.
