Jerry Harrison to amerykański muzyk znany z udziału w The Modern Lovers, a później jako klawiszowiec i gitarzysta Talking Heads. W 2002 roku został wprowadzony do Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Red and the Black ukazał się w 1981 roku jako pierwszy solowy album Harrisona, w którym współpracowali m.in. Bernie Worrell i Adrian Belew. Ta rozszerzona winylowa edycja Record Store Day 2023 zawiera nagranie na dwóch kolorowych LP (czerwony i czarny) i zawiera dziewięć oryginalnych utworów uzupełnionych o siedem wersji instrumentalnych. Wśród utworów znajdują się Things Fall Apart, Fast Karma/No Questions czy The Red Nights.
