Hawkwind to angielski zespół rockowy znany jako jeden z głównych przedstawicieli space rocku. Grupa powstała w listopadzie 1969 roku i włączyła do swojej muzyki elementy hard rocku, rocka progresywnego i rocka psychodelicznego. Ich teksty często podejmują tematy miejskiego życia i science fiction.
Album The 1999 Party na podwójnym winylu przynosi zapis koncertu z Chicago Auditorium z 21 marca 1974 roku, pierwotnie wydany w 1997 roku wyłącznie na CD. W ramach Record Store Day 2019 to wydanie ukazuje się na winylu w limitowanym nakładzie 5500 egzemplarzy.
