Jools Holland to brytyjski pianista, dyrygent, wokalista i kompozytor, który w 1987 roku założył dziewiętnastoosobowy big band Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Od 1992 roku prowadzi program muzyczny BBC Later... with Jools Holland, za co został odznaczony Orderem Imperium Brytyjskiego. Współpracował z Davidem Gilmourem, Ericem Claptonem, Markiem Knopflerem czy Stingiem.
Album Pianola: Piano & Friends zawiera na podwójnym winylu dwa dziesiątki nagrań w towarzystwie wielu znamienitych gości. Wśród współpracujących artystów pojawiają się Tom Jones, David Gilmour, Herbie Hancock, Gregory Porter, Joe Bonamassa, Lang Lang, Jamie Cullum czy Rick Wakeman. Zapis obejmuje występy na żywo z Royal Albert Hall oraz Chelsea Television Studios, a także utwory studyjne z udziałem London Contemporary Voices i Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
