Rock in Rio uwiecznia występ Iron Maiden na festiwalu o tej samej nazwie w Rio de Janeiro 19 stycznia 2001 roku, którym zakończyła się trasa Brave New World Tour. To piąty album koncertowy grupy, wydany w 2002 roku na trzech winylach (19 utworów) przez wytwórnię Parlophone. Zespół grał przed drugą największą publicznością w swojej karierze, a nagranie celebruje powrót wokalisty Bruce'a Dickinsona i gitarzysty Adriana Smitha do składu.
