Jethro Tull to zespół rocka progresywnego, którym od początku kieruje wokalista, gitarzysta i flecista Ian Anderson. Ich muzykę wyróżnia połączenie rocka z folkiem, blues i muzyką klasyczną oraz charakterystyczna rola fletu.
Album A ukazuje się na LP jako rocznicowa reedycja płyty z 1980 roku, na nowo zmiksowanej przez Stevena Wilsona z oryginalnych taśm. Nagranie miało pierwotnie być solowym projektem Andersona, po rozmowach z wytwórnią ukazało się jednak pod nazwą zespołu – przy nagraniu obok Andersona uczestniczył gitarzysta Martin Barre. Wśród utworów znajdują się Crossfire, Batteries Not Included i Working John, Working Joe.
