Legion of the Damned to holenderski zespół thrash/death metalowy z Heldenu, działający pod tą nazwą od 2005 roku (wcześniej jako Occult). W swoich tekstach koncentruje się na motywach horrorowych, mrocznej tematyce okultystycznej, kwestiach religijnych i wizjach apokaliptycznych.
Album The Poison Chalice ukazał się w 2023 roku nakładem wytwórni Napalm Records jako podwójne CD w digipacku i zawiera 25 utworów. Pierwszy krążek zawiera nowy materiał studyjny z utworami takimi jak Contamination, Skulls Adorn the Traitor's Gate czy Beheading of the Godhead. Drugi krążek zawiera nagrania przygotowane na potrzeby streamu European Metal Festival Alliance 2020, zapewniając słuchaczom unikatowe wrażenia z tego internetowego festiwalu.
W czasie wydania albumu zespół występował w sześcioosobowym składzie: Maurice Swinkels (wokal), Richard Ebisch i Twan van Geel (gitary), Fabian Verweij (gitara), Harold Gielen (gitara basowa) oraz Erik Fleuren (perkusja).
