The Living End to australijski zespół łączący punk, rockabilly i rock. Charakterystycznym elementem ich brzmienia jest zastosowanie kontrabasu, który w standardowym rockowym składzie nie jest powszechny.
Album The Living End ukazał się w październiku 1998 roku nakładem wytwórni Modular Recordings, nagrany został w Sing Sing Studios w Melbourne z producentem Lindsayem Graviną. Płyta osiągnęła pierwsze miejsce australijskiej listy ARIA i zawiera takie przeboje jak Prisoner of Society czy Second Solution. Ta reedycja z okazji 25. rocznicy ukazuje się jako podwójny winyl w limitowanym nakładzie 1000 egzemplarzy, zawiera 24 nagrania, luksusowy 36-stronicowy booklet z rzadkimi fotografiami oraz dawno zagubione nagranie koncertowe z radia triple j z 1998 roku.
W momencie premiery albumu skład tworzyli Chris Cheney (wokal, gitara), Scott Owen (kontrabas) i Travis Demsey (perkusja).
