Marillion to brytyjski zespół rockowy założony w Aylesbury w Buckinghamshire w 1979 roku. Wyrósł z post-punkowej sceny muzycznej i stał się pomostem między punk rockiem a klasycznym rockiem progresywnym. Należy do najbardziej utytułowanych kapel neo-progresywnych lat osiemdziesiątych.
Afraid of Sunlight to ósmy album studyjny zespołu, wydany w 1995 roku przez wytwórnię EMI jako ich ostatni dla tej wytwórni. Winylowa reedycja nakładem Sanctuary Records obejmuje 17 utworów na dwóch krążkach i zawiera oryginalne nagrania albumowe uzupełnione o materiał bonusowy – wersje demo, outtakes studyjne oraz akustyczną wersję tytułowej kompozycji. Wśród wyróżniających się utworów znalazły się siedmiominutowe Gazpacho, melancholijne Afraid of Sunrise czy epickie Out of This World.
Na albumie zagrali Steve Hogarth (wokal), Steve Rothery (gitara), Mark Kelly (keyboard), Pete Trewavas (gitara basowa) i Ian Mosley (perkusja).
