Georg Friedrich Händel (1685–1759) był niemieckim kompozytorem barokowym, który od 1712 roku mieszkał w Londynie i uzyskał obywatelstwo brytyjskie. Wraz z Bachem i Telemannem należy do najczęściej wykonywanych kompozytorów barokowych. Skomponował ponad czterdzieści oper i trzydzieści oratoriów, a sławę przyniosło mu przede wszystkim oratorium Mesjasz. Jego hymn koronacyjny Zadok the Priest wykonywany jest od 1727 roku przy każdej koronacji brytyjskiego monarchy.
Album Händel Goes Wild ukazał się w 2017 roku nakładem wytwórni Erato i zawiera 15 utworów – arii i części instrumentalnych z oper i oratoriów Händla. Nagranie łączy klasyczny barok z elementami improwizacji i nowoczesnego podejścia. Reprezentowane są opery Rinaldo, Alcina, Giulio Cesare in Egitto czy Serse oraz oratoria Semele i Solomon. Wśród wyróżnionych utworów znalazły się arie Lascia ch'io pianga, Ombra mai fu, Piangerò la sorte mia oraz orkiestrowa The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.
