Saxon to brytyjska grupa heavymetalowa założona w 1975 roku w Barnsleyu, kluczowy przedstawiciel ruchu new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM). W latach osiemdziesiątych osiągnęła znaczący sukces komercyjny, sprzedając ponad 23 miliony nośników na całym świecie i do dziś aktywnie koncertuje.
Album Rock the Nations ukazał się pierwotnie w 1986 roku jako dziesiąty studyjny krążek grupy. Niniejsza reedycja z 2018 roku na CD zawiera zremasterowane nagrania z 2010 roku i obejmuje 17 utworów, w tym bonusowe strony B singli (na przykład Chase the Fade, Everybody Up) oraz koncertowe nagrania z Reading Festival.
