Scorpions to niemiecka grupa hard rockowa założona w 1965 roku w Hanowerze, która stała się jednym z najsłynniejszych zespołów rockowych na świecie. Ich melodyjny heavy metal i efektowne rockowe ballady przyniosły dziesiątki milionów sprzedanych albumów i niezatarte miejsce w historii gatunku.
Savage Amusement, dziesiąty studyjny album zespołu, ukazał się w kwietniu 1988 roku nakładem wytwórni BMG. To dwupłytowe wydanie w digipacku zawiera 21 utworów – pierwotny LP uzupełniony o dema i materiały bonusowe, w tym kompozycje Rhythm of Love, Passion Rules the Game i Believe in Love. Album osiągnął 5. miejsce na listach przebojów w USA i zdobył tam platynową certyfikację. Drugi dysk przynosi film dokumentalny To Russia With Love and Other Savage Amusements oraz koncertowe wersje hitów.
W czasie wydania albumu w skład Scorpions wchodzili: Rudolf Schenker (gitara, wokale wspierające), Klaus Meine (wokal główny), Matthias Jabs (gitara, wokale wspierające), Francis Buchholz (gitara basowa, wokale wspierające) i Herman Rarebell (perkusja, wokale wspierające).
