Sting, właściwie Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, to angielski muzyk, wokalista i kompozytor. Zanim rozpoczął karierę solową, był głównym wokalistą, kompozytorem i basistą rockowej grupy The Police, która należała do najważniejszych zespołów lat siedemdziesiątych i osiemdziesiątych.
Album The Bridge ukazał się 19 listopada 2021 roku nakładem wytwórni A&M Records i jest piętnastym albumem studyjnym Stinga. To pierwsza jego płyta o rockowym charakterze od wydanego w 2016 roku 57th & 9th. Album powstawał w czasie pandemii i osobistych strat, a zawiera trzynaście utworów, wśród których wyróżnia się singel If It's Love, tytułowy The Bridge oraz coverowa wersja klasyki (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay. W nagraniu ponownie wzięli udział długoletni współpracownicy: Branford Marsalis na saksofonie i klarnecie oraz Manu Katché na perkusji.
