Thin Lizzy to irlandzka grupa hardrockowa założona w Dublinie w 1969 roku, znana z hitów takich jak „Whiskey in the Jar” czy „The Boys Are Back in Town”. Frontmanem zespołu był basista i wokalista Phil Lynott, który przewodził grupie podczas nagrywania dwunastu albumów studyjnych.
Vagabonds of the Western World to trzeci album studyjny zespołu, wydany w 1973 roku przez wytwórnię Deram. To japońskie wydanie winylowe z serii Legend Of Hard Rock zawiera 8 utworów o łącznym czasie trwania ponad 40 minut. Jest to ostatni album z oryginalnym gitarzystą Erikiem Bellem oraz pierwszy z okładką autorstwa artysty Jima Fitzpatricka, którego prace stały się później ikoniczne dla wizualnej tożsamości grupy. Album prezentuje twardsze, hardrockowe brzmienie w porównaniu z wcześniejszymi płytami i zawiera utwory takie jak The Rocker, Mama Nature Said czy tytułowy Vagabond of the Western World.
Na albumie wystąpili Phil Lynott (gitara basowa, wokal), Eric Bell (gitara), Brian Downey (perkusja) oraz gościnnie gitarzyści Gary Moore, Steve Johnson i Snowy White.
