Thulcandra to niemiecki zespół z Monachium grający melodic black/death metal inspirowany twórczością Dissection, Sacramentum i Unanimated. Grupa została założona w 2003 roku, w 2005 roku wstrzymała działalność, a w 2008 roku reaktywował ją założyciel Steffen Kummerer.
Album Hail the Abyss ukazał się w 2023 roku nakładem wytwórni Napalm Records i jest piątym albumem studyjnym zespołu. Zawiera łącznie 12 utworów, w tym utwór tytułowy Hail the Abyss, Velvet Damnation, On the Wings of Cosmic Fire, a zamykają go dwa nagrania koncertowe: The Second Fall i Deliverance in Sin and Death. Album jest dostępny w formacie CD w digipaku.
W momencie wydania albumu zespół tworzyli perkusista Erebor i Matthias Landes.
