UFO to brytyjska grupa hard rockowa założona w 1969 roku, która wywarła wpływ na dziesiątki zespołów heavymetalowych, w tym Iron Maiden i Metallicę. Od początku wokalistą jest Phil Mogg, a w latach siedemdziesiątych z zespołem gościnnie współpracował niemiecki gitarzysta Michael Schenker ze Scorpions.
No Heavy Petting ukazało się w 1976 roku nakładem wytwórni Chrysalis i było piątym studyjnym albumem UFO, a zarazem pierwszym ze stałym klawiszowcem — zespół rozrósł się wówczas do pięcioosobowego składu. Producent Leo Lyons z zespołu Ten Years After zamknął tym albumem trylogię swoich projektów z UFO. Tytuł nawiązywał do zasady „zakaz intymnych zachowań”, która obowiązywała w angielskich basenach publicznych. To dwupłytowe rozszerzone wydanie zawiera 27 utworów, w tym koncertowe bonusy i akustyczne dema. Spośród piosenek na trwałe do repertuaru koncertowego weszły Natural Thing i I'm a Loser.
W składzie UFO w czasie wydania albumu grali Phil Mogg (wokal), Michael Schenker (gitara elektryczna), Pete Way (gitara basowa), Andy Parker (perkusja), Danny Peyronel (instrumenty klawiszowe) i Paul Raymond (instrumenty klawiszowe).
