Van Canto to niemiecki zespół, który w unikalny sposób łączy heavy metal ze sztuką wokalną a cappella — większość instrumentów imitują głosy pięciu wokalistów, rytm utrzymuje perkusista. Ich styl określany jest jako a cappella power metal.
Album To the Power of Eight został wydany w czerwcu 2021 roku przez wytwórnię Napalm Records jako ósmy studyjny krążek grupy. Na wszystkich dwunastu utworach gościnnie występuje Dennis „Sly” Schunke, były główny wokalista zespołu. Repertuar łączy własne kompozycje z coverami klasycznych utworów — m.in. Run to the Hills Iron Maiden, Thunderstruck AC/DC i I Want It All Queen. Tytułowy utwór otwierający album, To the Power of Eight, a także Dead by the Night i Faith Focus Finish, to autorskie nowości.
W chwili wydania albumu skład tworzyli Inga Scharf i Hagen Hirschmann (wokale prowadzące), Stefan Schmidt, Ross Thompson i Jan Moritz (wokale) oraz Bastian Emig (perkusja).
