Whiplash to amerykański zespół speed i thrash metalowy, który od połowy lat 80. łączy szybkość nowojorskiej szkoły thrashu z miażdżącymi gitarami i energetycznym wykonaniem. Grupa powstała w 1984 roku z połączenia sił Tony'ego Portara i Tony'ego Scaglione, a debiut Power And Pain ukazał się w 1985 roku.
Roadrunner Years (Deluxe Edition) z 2015 roku na trzech płytach CD gromadzi kompletną twórczość Whiplash z okresu 1986–1989, gdy zespół był związany z wytwórnią Roadrunner Records. Zestaw zawiera albumy Power And Pain, Ticket To Mayhem i Insult To Injury — łącznie 30 thrashmetalowych klasyków, w tym Stage Dive, Red Bomb, Walk The Plank czy Perpetual Warfare. Wydanie ukazało się nakładem Dissonance Productions w luksusowym digipaku z obi.
