Whitesnake to brytyjski zespół rockowy założony w 1978 roku przez wokalistę Davida Coverdale'a po jego odejściu z Deep Purple. Formacja znana jest z połączenia hard rocku z chwytliwymi melodiami oraz charakterystycznego głosu Coverdale'a.
Album Restless Heart ukazał się w marcu 1997 roku nakładem wytwórni EMI jako dziewiąty album studyjny zespołu. Pierwotnie pomyślany jako solowa płyta Davida Coverdale'a, został ostatecznie wydany pod szyldem Whitesnake pod naciskiem wytwórni. Pod względem brzmienia album prezentuje spokojniejsze i bardziej melodyjne podejście niż poprzednie dwa albumy, oferując 11 utworów, w tym Don't Fade Away, Too Many Tears czy Stay With Me.
Wśród długoletnich członków zespołu, w nagraniu albumu wziął udział basista Tony Franklin.
