Brytyjska grupa heavymetalowa Black Sabbath należy do pionierów heavy metalu. Kapela z Birminghamu pomogła zdefiniować gatunek swoimi pierwszymi albumami na przełomie lat 60. i 70. i stała się fundamentalnym zespołem w historii rocka.
Album Heaven and Hell ukazał się 25 kwietnia 1980 roku nakładem wytwórni BMG i jest to dziewiąty studyjny album zespołu. To pierwsza płyta, na której oryginalnego wokalistę Ozzy'ego Osbourne'a zastąpił Ronnie James Dio, były frontman Rainbow. Za produkcję odpowiadał Martin Birch, a album odniósł sukces komercyjny i krytyczny, zdobywając w 1986 roku platynową certyfikację w USA. To wydanie 2CD zawiera 19 utworów, w tym oryginalny album, edycje singlowe i wersje koncertowe piosenek Neon Knights, Children of the Sea czy tytułowego Heaven and Hell, nagranych w 1980 roku w Hartfordzie i rok później w londyńskim Hammersmith Odeon.
