Black Sabbath to angielski heavymetalowy zespół z Birminghamu, uznawany za pionierów gatunku. Ich pierwsze trzy albumy Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970) i Master of Reality (1971) zdefiniowały oblicze heavy metalu i pozostają fundamentalnymi dziełami historii muzyki.
Album Live Evil ukazał się w 1982 roku jako pierwsze oficjalne nagranie koncertowe Black Sabbath i ukazuje zespół z wokalistą Ronniem Jamesem Dio. To wydanie Super Deluxe z okazji 40. rocznicy zawiera na czterech winylach oprócz zremasterowanego oryginału również nowo zmiksowane wersje z koncertów trasy 1982 w Seattle, San Antonio, Dallas i Fresno. Znalazły się tu hitowe utwory takie jak Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs czy Heaven and Hell.
Na albumie występują Ronnie James Dio (wokal), perkusista Vinnie Appice oraz założyciele zespołu Tony Iommi (gitara) i Geezer Butler (gitara basowa).
