Black Sabbath to angielska grupa heavymetalowa, uznawana za pionierów gatunku. Zespół założyli w Birmingham w 1968 roku gitarzysta Tony Iommi, basista Geezer Butler, wokalista Ozzy Osbourne oraz perkusista Bill Ward. Ich trzy pierwsze albumy Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970) i Master of Reality (1971) pomogły zdefiniować heavy metal i należą dziś do fundamentalnych dzieł gatunku.
Album Live Evil ukazał się pierwotnie w 1982 roku jako pierwszy oficjalny album koncertowy grupy. Jubileuszowa Super Deluxe 40th Anniversary Edition na czterech CD zawiera nowo zremasterowane wersje oryginalnego materiału koncertowego (CD1 i CD2) oraz nowo zremiksowane nagrania z trzech amerykańskich koncertów z trasy w kwietniu i maju 1982 roku (CD3 i CD4 – Seattle, San Antonio, Dallas, Fresno). Na albumie występuje wokalista Ronnie James Dio, perkusista Vinnie Appice oraz członkowie-założyciele Tony Iommi i Geezer Butler. Tracklista obejmuje metalowe klasyki takie jak War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man, Heaven and Hell czy Neon Knights.
