Black Sabbath to brytyjska grupa, która należy do pionierów heavy metalu i kluczowych zespołów historii rocka. Brytyjska kapela, którą w Birmingham w 1968 roku założyli Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne i Bill Ward, zdefiniowała gatunek swoimi trzema pierwszymi albumami oraz stylem z mocnymi gitarowymi riffami i horrorowymi tekstami.
Dwupłytowa reedycja Mob Rules na CD to drugi album z wokalistą Ronniem Jamesem Dio i pierwszy z perkusistą Vinnym Appice'em, pierwotnie wydany w listopadzie 1981 roku przez wytwórnię Sanctuary Records. Album stanowił kontynuację udanego Heaven and Hell z 1980 roku i zawiera łącznie 31 utworów, w tym nagrania studyjne, wersję tytułowej piosenki z filmowego soundtracku Heavy Metal, nowy miks z 2021 roku oraz koncertowe nagrania z Londynu i amerykańskiego Portlandu.
W czasie wydania albumu w składzie występowali Ronnie James Dio (wokal), Geoff Nicholls (keyboard) i Vinny Appice (perkusja).
