Joyce DiDonato to amerykańska śpiewaczka operowa – koloraturowa mezzosopranistka, znana z interpretacji dzieł Händla, Mozarta i Rossiniego. Dwukrotnie otrzymała nagrodę Grammy za najlepsze wokalne nagranie solowe w muzyce poważnej (2012, 2016).
Album Eden ukazał się w 2022 roku na CD w wytwórni Erato. Jego program, złożony z 16 utworów tematycznie związanych z naturą, obejmuje szerokie spektrum czasowe – od XVII do XXI wieku. Oprócz kompozytorów takich jak Francesco Cavalli, Georg Friedrich Händel, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Richard Wagner czy Gustav Mahler znalazł się tu także Josef Mysliveček. Utwór The First Morning of the World brytyjskiej kompozytorki Rachel Portman do tekstu amerykańskiego poety Genea Scheera został skomponowany specjalnie na ten album. DiDonato śpiewa w towarzystwie orkiestry Il Pomo d'Oro pod batutą dyrygenta Maxima Emelyanycheva.
