Album Laysongs na CD prezentuje twórczość amerykańskiego mandolinisty, wokalisty i kompozytora Chrisa Thilea, znanego z grup Nickel Creek i Punch Brothers. Thile jest laureatem nagrody MacArthura z 2012 roku, a w latach 2016–2020 prowadził audycję radiową Live from Here.
Album zawiera dziewięć utworów, w tym Laysong, Ecclesiastes oraz trzyczęściową suitę Salt (in the Wounds) of the Earth. W nagraniu znalazło się także opracowanie czwartej części Sonaty na skrzypce solo Béli Bartóka. Wydawnictwo ma wyraźnie osobisty charakter i stanowi syntezę folkowych korzeni z klasyczną formą.
