Lester Young, zwany „Prez”, był amerykańskim jazzowym saksofonistą tenorowym i klarnecistą. W 1933 roku dołączył do zespołu Count Basiego, później współpracował z Benem Websterem, Gerrym Mulliganem i innymi. Jego brat Lee Young był perkusistą.
Album Blue Lester na CD w formacie digipack zawiera 19 utworów ukazujących grę Younga na saksofonie tenorowym. Wśród nagrań znajdują się The Man I Love, Jump Lester Jump, Polka Dots and Moonbeams oraz tytułowy Blue Lester.
